Who We Are and What We Stand For
The Career Advisers Association of Zimbabwe is a registered trust with a membership throughout Zimbabwe.CAAZ seeks to empower career advisers to acquire competencies to facilitate career guidance to clients.
As Zimbabwe emphasizes “universal access to education for all children”, CAAZ ensures that every student – from Harare to the remotest village – has a trained advisor to help them chart their future. Effective career guidance helps individuals reach their potential, economies become more efficient, and societies become fairer
Our History
Discover how we started, who we are, and what drives us
Founded on April 9, 2022, in Harare, Zimbabwe, CAAZ was born out of a shared vision to transform career guidance across the nation. After a series of virtual and in-person workshops conducted under the EducationUSA and Education Matters Professional Career and College Counselor Program, the need for continuous professional development for Career Advisers became clear.
From these workshops, eight Career Advisers were selected to form the founding board of CAAZ. Inspired and challenged by EducationUSA and Education Matters, they committed to building an organization dedicated to addressing the gaps in career guidance within Zimbabwean high schools.
Today, CAAZ serves as a beacon of hope, support, and professional excellence for career advisers and the learners they serve.

The Base
Background
Career guidance in Zimbabwe has grown rapidly as educators recognize its importance. In 2021, EducationUSA and Education Matters launched a Professional College and Career Guidance Counseling Program for high school counselors, helping them “build their knowledge and skills” and strengthen college and career advising in schools. This and other initiatives created a community of engaged advisors.
Building on those partnerships, CAAZ was officially formed in December 2022. We are a partnership of current and former school counselors, educators, and development organizations with a shared commitment to national development. Our formation also reflects Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030 blueprint, which emphasizes innovation and youth empowerment.
