The Times Higher Education Counsellor Accreditation Programme (THE CAP) is designed for counsellors
working in high schools from all over the world who provide advice to students on career and university
selection. Counsellors do not need any previous qualifications or minimum experience in the industry to
complete the programme. They do however need to be actively working at a specific school and have an
official school email address. Once the counsellor has gained the THE CAP Accreditation, the school will
also become a THE Accredited Counsellor School for the duration of time the counsellor is working there
and accredited.
- International Recognition
Gain a globally respected accreditation from Times Higher Education, elevating your credibility as a school counsellor on the world stage. - No Prior Experience Required
Designed to be inclusive — whether you’re new to the profession or seasoned — THE CAP is accessible to all active school-based counsellors. - Accredited Counsellor Status
Earn the official THE Accredited Counsellor title, setting you apart as a trusted and informed advisor to students, parents, and institutions. - School Accreditation Advantage
Once you’re accredited, your school also receives the designation of a THE Accredited Counsellor School, boosting the institution’s reputation and attractiveness to universities and parents alike.
Our thoughtfully designed programs—Empower, Embark, and Enrich—offer a comprehensive approach to gain essential life skills, including leadership, empathy, and adaptability, alongside practical, experience-based skills that directly enhance your effectiveness in today’s educational landscape.
